Table Talk · Lesson 4
Baccarat Basics: Player, Banker, Tie
Understand the common three main bets, why Banker often carries a commission, and why “patterns” mislead.
The main bets
In popular casino baccarat, guests typically bet Player, Banker, or Tie. Cards are dealt to Player and Banker hands under fixed drawing rules; guests usually do not choose hits.
Banker bets often have a commission on wins in classic rules because the Banker side has a slightly lower house edge than Player in standard math — still a house edge, not a gift.
Tie bets pay more and typically carry a much higher house edge. Excitement payouts deserve skepticism.
Scoreboards are theater
Display boards showing streaks are conversation pieces. They do not create dependence that you can cash as an edge.
Educational players treat pattern boards as entertainment graphics, not signals.
NinoBets does not sell baccarat systems.
Etiquette snapshot
Follow table rules about touching cards (many games are dealt face up without player handling). Keep the pace respectful.
Session caps still apply even when the table feels “calm” or glamorous.
Takeaways
- Player/Banker/Tie are the core classroom bets; rules are mostly fixed.
- Commission and edge differ by bet type — Tie is often costly.
- Streak boards are not a strategy manual.
